Types of natural ropes
Hemp rope
Our Hemp rope is a classic, strong and durable rope with an authentic, robust appearance.
Ideal for sports applications such as climbing rope in sports halls, craft work and decorative projects.
Langman Rope hemp ropes are made of 100% flaxBecause "flax" is a lesser-known name in the Netherlands, we call it "hemp."
Hemp flax rope Absorbs moisture and can weaken or become susceptible to mold with prolonged exposure to water and insufficient drying. Proper maintenance significantly extends its lifespan.
Untreated hemp is biodegradable under natural conditions, but any treatments or coatings may alter this.
In the past, Hemp flax ropes tarred to make them more sustainable. With the advent of plastic alternatives such as our Polytex, Hempex en POS Nowadays, tarring is no longer the standard.

Manila rope
Manila rope is a natural rope. Langman Rope Manila is produced from high-quality raw materials and yarnsThe construction is standard 3-strand twisted, but other constructions are possible on request.
In the past, Manila rope was widely used in the scheepvaart as ship rope. Today it is still used in the shipping industry, but also in the yacht industry, for example for ship shrouds from classic ships.
In addition, Manila rope was widely used as pull rope, handrail rope, skirting rope and twine. Thanks to its natural appearance, Manila rope is also extremely suitable as decorative rope or ship rope.

Sisal rope is a natural rope. Langman Rope Sisal is produced from white, high-quality sisal yarns, which are extracted from the agave plantThe standard construction is 3-strand twisted.
Sisal rope in thin diameters is mainly used for scratching posts for cats. Thanks to its rough structure it is perfectly suited for this. An official pull rope is a 4-strand twisted construction, also made of sisal.
Due to its rough structure, sisal rope is also often used as packing and binding twineIn addition, sisal rope is ideally suited for various decorative applications.
